Bra Care and Maintenance: Keeping Your Bras Comfortable and Long-Lasting

Your bras are more than just undergarments—they’re essentials that deserve a little love to keep them in great shape. Learning how to care for and maintain your bras properly not only ensures they last longer but also keeps you feeling fresh and comfy all day long.

Why Care for Your Bras?

Taking care of your bras isn’t just about keeping them looking nice (although that’s also super important!). It’s also about ensuring they provide the support and comfort you need every day. We have few tips how to treat your bralettes:

  • Longevity: Good care helps your bras maintain their shape and support for longer.
  • Comfort: A well-cared-for bra feels better on your skin and provides the right support, reducing irritation and discomfort.
  • Hygiene: Regular washing removes oils, sweat, and dirt, keeping your bras fresh and clean.

Washing Tips

  1. Hand Wash or Gentle Cycle: Bras are delicate, so it’s best to hand wash them using a mild detergent. If you prefer using a machine, use a lingerie bag and select the gentle cycle to protect the fabric and maintain the shape.
  2. Avoid Hot Water and Bleach: Hot water can damage elastic fibers and cause bras to lose their shape. Don't use bleach—it can weaken fabrics and affect colours.
  3. Dry Flat: After washing, reshape your bras and lay them flat to dry. Avoid hanging them by the straps, as this can stretch them out over time.

How to store them

  1. Drawer Storage: Store your bras in a drawer where they can lie flat or stand upright. Avoid folding one cup into the other, as this can alter their shape.
  1. Separate Colors: Keep light-colored bras separate from dark ones to prevent color transfer and staining.
  1. Rotate Your Bras: Give your bras a rest day between wears to allow the fabric to recover its shape and extend the lifespan of each bra.

When to Wash Your Bras

  • After Every 2-3 Wears: Unless you’ve been particularly active or sweaty, washing your bras every 2-3 wears helps maintain freshness and elasticity.
  • Hand Wash vs. Machine Wash: Hand washing is gentler on bras and helps them last longer. If you use a machine, always use a lingerie bag and choose the delicate cycle.
